I lost track of my GG-grandmother Margaret Buckley's cousin Catherine Buckley from Kilcormac Co Offaly in Troy, NY after the 1870 census, but her parents and siblings remained. I then found her listed in some 1890s Buckley wills obtained from the RCHS listing her as a nun with an address in England. I was able to find her in the 1881, 1891, and 1901 English census. The 1891 census enumerated the Sisters as "Nun in Roman Catholic Convent" but the 1881 and 1901 census listed them as "Little Sisters of the Poor". I dont know too much about the religious orders so I dont know if Little Sisters of the Poor is another name for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. But if not, it gives you another place to look. I am not sure if she entered the convent in Troy, but that is where she lived for years after immigration and her family remained in Troy. Does anyone know anything about Little Sisters records of they exist?? -Michael > > Were there any other religious sisters, other than the Sisters of St. Joseph > of Carondelet, in the Troy area in the 1880 time frame?
