The 1883 Troy directory shows a John H. Armstrong, a moulder, at 71 Thirteenth Street. The 1878 Troy Directory shows this same man at 405 Fourth Street. The 1880 census shows a John Armstrong, iron moulder, at 403 Fourth Street and a Margaret Armstrong at 405 Fourth Street. There are a number of other family members listed with them. It sounds like this niece could be one of these Armstrongs. You may want to trace them through the censuses (including the state censuses on Pat Connors' website) and see if you find Catherine living with one of them. Chris, this is wonderful! I did not think to look at City directories after her death in 1881. Thank you! Will do the Census research too. ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Chris Marvin [[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2012 12:51 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NY-TROY-IRISH-GENSOC] Catherine Armstrong The 1883 Troy directory shows a John H.
