Library Director Paul Hicok said the newspaper was sent out Monday to be digitized and, in a month, they will receive it back in a PDF format. The collection will be all electronic and will eventually be offered on the library’s website to view. The famous poem "‘Twas The Night Before Christmas" was first published in the building and in the Troy Sentinel newspaper on Dec. 23, 1823. The Troy Public Library is the first library in the world to provide digital access to the historic newspaper. The firm transported the collection from the Troy Public Library this morning with the assistance of Focused Technologies, of Menands, and will be digitized by Kirtas Technologies, Inc., a company that specializes in document imaging in Victor. The Troy Sentinel eventually evolved into today’s Record. Kris Ayotte
