The Watervliet Historical Society and the Cohoes Spindle City Historic Society are jointly hosting a presentation on Saturday September 22nd at 1:00 PM at the Watervliet Museum. OUR LOCATION: Corner of 1st Avenue and 15th Street in Watervliet Just behind the Watervliet Public Library The title of the program is: "YOU DON'T KNOW JACK" In the persona of Jack of the Mabee Farm (from nearby Rotterdam Junction), historic re-enactor Clifford Oliver Mealy explores the who, what, why and wherefores of slavery in America. Being careful not to judge people of the past by today?s standards, Clifford Mealy brings American slavery to life in an intelligent factual presentation surely to enlighten. As a photographer for New York State?s Bureau of Historic Sites, Clifford began serious study into early African American History. It was here also that Clifford Oliver Mealy was recruited into the ranks of historic re-enacting. There is no charge for this program. All are welcome. * *
