    3. I have a Great, Great Grandfather who was naturalized in 1851. When he came > the the US he came with a wife and 9 children. Did his children have to be > naturalized individually or did his taking his oath include them? > Jim, rules changed over time, here is a site I did years ago. It covers the rules: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nyrenss2/naturalization/#nat%20history As you probably have seen, I have been transcribing the Albany County natualization Declaration of Intentions of those that mention the county of birth in Ireland. I have two films covering years 1842 thru 1854. I will then be getting the next films till end of 1860s. Plus, they all have indexes before the records. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
