The same question might be asked for any of the parishes which operated schools. Has inquiry been made to the diocese concerning the status of the records of their closed schools? In Watervliet, St. Patrick's school building is affected by the same development proposal as is affecting the church building, and is threatened with demolition ... but the school building is quite a time-capsule, having sat unused since the consolidation of the Wvlt parish schools over 25 years ago. I'd only be surprised if their old records are NOT still in the building, likely awaiting a date with a bulldozer. - Stan Broderick -------------------------------------------------- From: "Peter Reilly" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 14, 2012 2:05 AM To: <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [NY-TROY-IRISH-GENSOC] St. Peters Church > Speaking of St Peter's. Through the efforts of list member Ed Dyer, we recently learned that the records of St. Joseph's School are now kept at Sacred Heart. It is possible that the records of the closed schools such as St. Peter's followed the children to the new school to which they were assigned.
