I had the same problem with my gr grandmother. Bill McGrath suggested I try the city of North Greenbush because they used to have a sanitarian there were many of the sick people of Troy went. I called them on the phone (from CA) and sure enough they found my great grandmother's death. On one of my trips back to NY I got a death cert from them with my gr grandparents names.
