    3. Susan - the state archives dont have the actual death certificates, but they have an index on microfiche that will tell you the death location and certificate number. This is explained here: http://www.archives.nysed.gov/a/research/res_topics_gen_vitalstats.shtml The archives helped me locate place of death for my GGGrandfather, which was not where I supposed Otherwise you can just send $22 to NYS Health Dept and wait to see if they can locate a death certificate. Process is described here: https://www.health.ny.gov/vital_records/genealogy.htm Records for St Peter's (now closed) are kept at St Anthony's - 28 State St, Troy 12180 (518) 273-8622. I am not familiar with records requests at St Anthony's, They will not have a death certificate, and if the burial was in Cohoes, I would guess that wouldn't have anything. Calvary Cemetery in Cohoes was permanently closed in the 1950's. Still, maybe worth a phone call. Good luck! > On Jul 6, 2014, at 10:06 AM, SR <russell2855@bellsouth.net> wrote: > > City of Troy has responded that they do not have a death certificate for Miss Margaret Mahoney who died 4/18/1927 at 2617 Sixth St. in Troy.
