I’ll try to have my transcriptions from photos of headstones in the old sections of St. Patrick’s done by the time of the next meeting. I should have notes on which subsection they’re in, OC-1 (which I divided into OC-1 north and OC-1 south), and OC-2 through OC-6. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pis&PIcrid=66144&PIMode=cemetery&PIpi=15726138& To some extent I noted more specific locations, ranges within the subsections, but I know Tom Hanley would like a proper map if possible and I’m hoping with Mapping & Documenting Cemeteries http://www.amazon.com/Mapping-Documenting-Cemeteries-Pamela-Goffinet/dp/149289348X/ (which I own) that might indeed be feasible. I’d have had it completed earlier, but partly had been very frustrated by Excel scrambling a lot of the data I’d entered, and partly have been distracted by other things. I hadn’t had Attention Deficit Disorder Association as a child, but I think I might as an adult! Or perhaps I’m just interested & involved in too many things. Did anyone go to the Trial Before Christmas? I did - it was fun! It doesn’t look like there was as much coverage of it this time around - the “jury” came to the decision that Henry Livingston was the author of the poem. I think that might have been due in large part to a descendant of his (genealogist Mary Van Deusen) being a participant, a nice concession to that family that has for generations believed him to be the author. I remain undecided, though for the purpose of the mock trial I too probably would have gone with Livingston. http://www.bizjournals.com/albany/morning_call/2014/12/troys-mock-trial-of-famous-christmas-poem-draws.html http://www.oneidadispatch.com/general-news/20141208/who-wrote-twas-the-night-before-christmas-wvideo Chris
