    3. Darusa-- The Ryan portion of my family is a big mystery to me. All I can tell you is that my great grandfather, Thomas Ryan, was born in Ireland in 1822 and died there is 1871 as the result of an accident. His youngest child, my great uncle Thomas Francis Ryan, was born in Limerick in March of 1872 and shortly after that immigrated to Cohoes with his widowed mother, Margaret H. (Dwyer) Ryan, and three older siblings, Patrick, Mary, and Anna. I learned from Thomas Francis' obituary that Thomas, his father, and Margaret, his mother, had 8 children in total, but nothing is known about them and they may have died in infancy prior to their father, Thomas', death in 1871. I do know that my great grandmother, Margaret H. (Dwyer) Ryan, did have family in Chateaugay, NY, at the time of her immigration, but don't know if any of her husband's family had immigrated to the States, too.
