Saturday July 12, 2008 TroyRecord Article 100years agoSunday July 12 , 1908 “An autopsy determines the woman found in a pond on Conrad Teal’s farm was murdered.The body was taken to Larkin Brothers undertaking parlor in Averill Park, where Dr H.O. Fairweather of Troy and two Sand Lake physicians perform the autopsy.The doctors declare the young woman was not drowned but died from concussion of the brain as a result of a blow with a blunt weapon on the back of the head.The victims clothes were taken to Troy where they may help solve a missing persons case. Rev C. Waldo Cherry of the Second Presbyterian Church sermon is called “A New prescription for Disease.” That prescription turns out to be Christianity.
