Greaton testifies suspicion focused on Carrinton when a shortfall was discovered in the city’s police pension fund and Carrington told Greaton “if any shortages were found he would make good”. The defense lawyer , Lewis E. Griffith ,tries to establish a political motivation for making Carrington a scapegoat and asks Grearton if Mr. Carrington opposed the election of Arthur T Smith as treasurer.
