I have been receiving e-mail messages regarding St. Mary's cemetery burials; you probably have been receiving it also. I believe it originated on the GenWeb site. If the source of the research is from the one volume of St. Mary's burials printed by the American Canadian Genealogy Society, I would like to caution researchers that this document is based on very incomplete records at St. Mary's Church in Troy. Also, they only reflect those people who were actually buried from St. Mary's Church and not actual cemetery burial records; several of the deceased were buried in cemeteries other than St. Mary's. I don't believe the individual who offered to do these lookups has a listing of all the burials in St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy. I also have this volume and would be glad to check names but would just like to caution researchers that it is not a comprehensive listing. Kay Brearton TIGS Secretary Kbrearton@nycap.rr.com
My apologies to all for using the list in this manner but I do not have Mike Minahan's email address. Mike - We chatted at the Minahan reunion today. Please email me at megrice@attglobal.net with your email address. I have a question to ask you. Many thanks, Lynn Carey Grice
Hi Kay. I was very interested to hear about the information you have about St Mary's in Troy. Could you check and see if there is any listing for Ellen B. Sweeney and John Sweeney? They both died in July of 1897 and were members of St. Michael's church in South Troy. (That is the one that burned down on the hill I think.) They lived on Burden Ave. Thanks for any information you have. They were my great-grandparents.
