Tuesday July 1 ,2008 TroyRecord Article 100years agoWednesday July 1 , 1908 “I.C Blandy from Greenwich is a delegate to the Democratic Convention and stops in Troy on his way to the convention in Denver.He had in his pocket a set of resolutions passed by Greenwich and the surrounding towns asking that he go to the convention and use all his influence toward the defeat of expected third term nominee William Jennings Byron. Blandy tells the Record that he was most inspired to make the trip by 117 employees of the Hudson Valley Railway who begged him to work for Gov John Johnson of Minnesota. Although Blandy personally prefers Judge George Gray of Delaware he was willing to work for Johnson's nomination.
