Monday August 4 ,2008 TroyRecord Article 100years agoTuesday August 4 ,1908 “ DA O’Brien interviews Carrie Weaver, the friend of Hazel Drew, and tells reporters that Weaver confirms what everyone who knew Drew said that”to the effect that she had no steady male company and her conduct was free from cause for comment.” The DA says the work on the case will be continued but the outlook for favorable results is not good”” Friday July 31, 2008 TroyRecord Article 100years agoSaturday July 31, 1908 “The coroners inquest has failed to affirm that Hazel Drew died by foul play. In an opinion published today Rensselaer County coroner M. H. Strope states that Drew” came to her death from extravasation of blood in the durameter caused by a blow on the head from some blunt instrument in some manner unknown. In other words she died from bleeding in the brain. DA O’Brien recalls special agents Louis Unser and William Powers from Taborton mountain where they have been investigating for nearly 3 weeks. The Record reporter says “ the case will go down in history as an unsolved problem unless something develops.” **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination.
