A posting on the TIGS list on July 7, 2008 discussed the idea of capturing family and individual names from the various memorials in the local churches and putting them in a data base on the TIGS website. With the announcement of numerous church closings, this proposed project has even more relevence. As the response to the posting was quite positive, it was decided at the July TIGS meeting that we would go ahead with this project. Our plan is to: !. Do as many churches, Catholic and non-Catholic, as we can get volunteers. 2. List names from all memorials; stained glass windows, plaques, pew names, statues, etc. 3. Give a little history of each church, when it was founded, when closed etc. 4. Have a picture of the church on the website and, if feasible, pictures of the famous Tiffany windows or other notable memorials.
