My great-great-grandparents were John O'Brien and Johanna Shea/Shay, both born in Ireland although exact location is unknown. One or both of them may have died in Ireland. I did locate a Mrs. Johanna O'Brien, housekeeper, who lived on Fourth Street in South Troy. She is buried in an unmarked grave in St. Joseph's Cemetery. She is buried there alone and she is the sole plot owner so I am unable to determine for certain if she is Johanna Shea O'Brien. Known children (all believed to be born in Ireland) were: Catherine, b. prior to 1850, married Jeremiah McNamara/Mack Johanna, b. 1850(?), married John Joseph Mangan (my great-grandparents) Dennis, b. 1852(?), married Catherine Clancy "Brother", (first name unknown), b. 18??. Wife's name unknown. 1 known son named John. ************************* This young John O'Brien (son of Brother) was most likely the fellow who served as pallbearer for his aunt, Catherine Clancy O'Brien, in 1923. The latest I find him in Troy is February, 1938 when he served as pallbearer for his first cousin, Elizabeth Mack Kelley. This particular John O'Brien was alluded to in a previous post...just wanted to clarify that he is in my O'Brien family. M. Alice Mangan Okatie, SC
