It is speculated that they don’t play in Troy because of the Sabbath controversy. In Gloversville the mayor announced an arrest order for anyone attempting to play ball on the Sabbath in its town. The Troy police court ,though,is open today as Police Magistrate Abbott Jones attempts to reduce his workload. In Cinncinatti, former Troy pitcher George Wiltse starts for the New York Giants against the Reds. In Chicago, Troys star graduate Johnny Evers for the Chicago Cubs.
