Instaed of a center fields fence there is the Hudson River. If a ball lands in the river, the batter is credited with a homerun. A controversy erupts when a ‘loyal copper’’ patrolling the area, uses his stick to bat a ball that would have gone in the Hudson back onto the diamond.Umpire McAtee says he didn’t see it and the Syracuse team surround him and shove him around and threaten to drown him. Special Agent Jack Talbot runs onto the field to give the umpire protection and force an irate Syracuse player (Hooper)to sit on the bench under threat of being locked up. Troy wins 7-6.
