    3. The John O'Brien (wife Maggie Kieley O'Brien) who had a child named Rose Ursula O'Brien was born in County Kilkenny and most of his 11 siblings were born in either County Kilkenny or County Waterford in Corbally or Tramore. The Josephine O'Brien (sister of John O'Brien) mentioned in this thread was probably born in Corbally, Waterford. No one in ths O'Brien family was from County Tipperary. How do I know this? My paternal grandmother was Catherine O'Brien Duffy, one of the 11 siblings of John O'Brien. However, my great grandparents, who settled in Troy, were Michael and Johanna Burke Duffy, who were married in Forest, Templemore, Tipperary in 1835. They probably moved to Tramore, Waterford before twice migrating to NY in 1851 (from Dublin) and in 1864 (from Lancashire, England). Gerry Duffy

    3. Thank you for that information. Perhaps some other O'Brien family can relate to my data...? 3. Thanks Gerry, I doubt there is a connection, but I'm keeping you in my notes anyway, just in case. There are so many names the same as in my family: O'Brien, Duffy (Duffin) and Burke that I think it's worth it. 3. Gerry, I am always on the lookout for Burkes and Walshes from Troy because I know so little about my great-grandparents. One of my Paternal great-grandparents Richard Walsh lived in Troy for about 35 years before his dealth in 1806. His mother was Mary Burke who married John Walsh in Ireland, unfortunately I don't know where or when. My family was one of many who were all from Cork. Only problem is I haven't found one from Cork yet (Kerry, Mayo, Wexford, etc). If you know any Walshes in your family I love to know about them.
