    1. Re: [NY-TROY-IRISH-GENSOC] Missing relatives

    3. With all the O'Briens floating around, does anyone know of a John O'Brien and Margaret Lynch, married in 1853, probably in Troy? They moved on to Chicago by 1860, so none of the people mentioned would be their descendants, but might possibly be relatives. What is the origin of your O'Briens? I notice Tipperary mentioned. Is that the most common county for O'Briens? I know it is for Burkes. Any info would be greatly appreciated. 3. My info on the O'Brien's comes from the birth certificates of relatives born in Anacarty, Donohill, Tipperary. My Phillip Ryan married a Mary O'Brien who I know had a sister named Josephine but no idea of the other siblings. She was the daughter of Timothy O'Brien and Catherine Costello. Mary was born on 8/11/1834 and the name Lackenacormack is in there somewhere which I believe was an address??? When I saw that Timothy Ryan the son of Phillip and Mary was attended by two pall bearers at his funeral named John O'Brien and William O'Brien I immediately thought there might be a relation. It would explain Tim's relocation to Troy in the first place. Wish I could be of more help. I truly hoped the descendants of both William and John were on the list and might have given me more info.
