The Asylum was located on Linden Avenue, an extremely steep street with treacherous turns that runs between Pawling Avenue and Spring Avenue. I remember it clearly as my Grandfather was also there and in fact died there in 1949, the year before I was born. My parents often used the hill as a shortcut from South Troy to the East Side. The buildings stood for some time, but then were torn down. There are now townhouses or condos there. Kristin **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides. When did the Infirmary close? Was it about 1949? I wonder if my cousins remember it from back then?
