Marilyn, et.al. Yes, ancestry.com is a blessing and true it was much less expensive when it began but agreed it had much less information than it does today. However, the LDS still outperforms ancestry with its vast collection of genealogical materials. However, the LDS has raised their borrowing prices that make it prohibitive for many who are on limited income. Now, according to the LDS website they plan on digitizing their entire collection and will put it online at no cost. This I am afraid it will take years as this too will be accomplished by volunteers and members of the Mormon church. You can read about it by going to their website www.familysearch.org and clicking on news. In fact you can register to view this new website - which is very limited at the moment. Another great website for the Irish - if any have not seen or been to it is: www.ifhf.brsgenealogy.com. Even the overseas Irish Family Heritage Centre (even though quite expensive) is still much less expensive than the actual travel to Ireland, unless of course, you want to walk the old sod of your ancestors Rich in Greer, SC
