I am also looking for an early marriage about 1861-1862 possibly in West Troy. Maria J. Benson was born in Ireland about 1840. Her mother was Brigit Benson Maria had a daughter named Harriet Scholan born about 1857 as they appeared on the 1860 census with Brigit. Maria married William W. Powell about 1861-1862 possibly in a catholic ceremony. They had 8 or 9 children all born in West Troy. Lois in AZ

There is a book in the Troy Library called Marriages, deaths and miscellany in the West Troy Advocate, 1837-1864 / copied by Doris R. Sheridan; that may well have what you are looking for if it was in W Troy.
