    1. [NY-TROY-IRISH-GENSOC] St. Patrick's Day Riot 1837

    3. I have seen the section of Arthur James Weise's *Troy's One Hundred Years*that deals with the 1837 St. Patrick's Day Riot that is kindly shared at http://www.rootsweb.com/~nytigs/StPatricksDayRiot.htm. Since Amory Felton, whose store was damaged, is a relative of mine, I'm interested in learning more of the details than Weise gives. Has anyone done additional research? Is anyone aware of other published sources of information? I would check the newspapers of the time, but I'm in Chicago. Bob Miller Chicago

    3. The 1837 St. Pat's riot is an interest of mine, also. I imagine only the newspapers of the day might cover it. Was there any Irish News papers at that time or only later after the Famine immigration swelled populations?
