All, This is Mary Brennan Kohli chiming in. I live in another cow town, Elkhorn, WI. My maternal grandparents were Patrick J. Tully and Ellen M. Shea, who were both born in the Graigues/Blackwood area of County Kildare. Pat born in 1854 and Ellen in 1857. He probably arrived in the US in 1880 and she in 1882. I have still not found any record of their marriage in Ireland, or US. Their first 2 children were baptized at St Joe's, Mary in 1883 and Catherine in 1884. Patrick and Ellen moved to Queens, N.Y.C. by 1886. Besides Ellen, at least 3 of her sisters came to Troy, married and raised their families in the Troy/Saratoga Springs area. they were Marie Shea Flynn, born 1860, Esther Shea Freeman, born 1862, and Catherine Shea Gilson, born 1863. A Patrick Tully is listed as living at 644 Fourth St in the Troy City Directory in 1883 and I have reason to believe that this was their home. I am guessing from other sources that this was a multi-family residence, since another relative was listed at that address. Patrick is listed as being a puddler. For Andrea, my dad James F Brennan was born in Moygara, County Sligo. I have some books that deal with the history of the area during the period 1914-1921, and of the Keash-Culfada community, where one of his cousins grew up. Let me know if you are interested.
