James Brennan ( Co. Kilkenny) and wife Margaret Lahy lived in West Troy, now Watervliet. James and several members of his family were masons. I think Margaret was also from Kilkenny, but have not been able to prove that. They were married at St. Patrick's Church in Watervliet in 1847. Children - Maria (O'Brien), Lawrence, James H., and Margaret (Heenan) Lahey/Lahy, Cody, and Cavanaugh (various spellings) are associated with the Brennans and many lived in Cohoes. John O'Brien and wife Catherine Powers lived in Menands, in the area of the Menands Market. John was a farmer. They came from Glanworth and Fermoy, Co. Cork and settled here about 1851.
