    2. Thursday April 24 ,2008Troy Record Article 100years ago Friday April 24 , 1908 “Harry Brewer and Virgil Sweet are arrested at Frank M. Wheeler’S coal & wood,shop ,779 River Street, for a bootleg charcoal operation. The owner,Wheeler had noticed a shortage and was at a loss as to where it was going, thinking it was the work of boys around, but the volume led to the theory that the person had access to the building.Detective John H. Conley staked out the Wheeler yard and discovered the 2 men report to work earlier than other employee’ s, and loaded the charcoal on Sweets wagon.The amount was about 300$.00(several thousand by todays money).Neither man makes bail , the hearing is set for a preliminary examination next week. Albert Curtis of Waterford shoots himself six times at the Waterford Rural Cemetery,500 feet from his home.at about 4am.His brother finds a note saying where he was, three hours later and he is rushed to Cohoes Hospital.He was a bridge tender on the Champlain Canal.It is believed insomnia is to blame. Are these records that previously were not available to The Tipperary Heritage Center in Tipperary Town? Can we now request records from either the Library or the Center that they didn't have access to before? I have paid for and received records from the Heritage Center in Ireland but they were unable t locate some of the records I needed. I am hoping this is an addition to their library of records.
