Thank you so much - I am looking for John Young - I wish it was not such a common name. In 1929 he would 76 years old, born in Tipperary, Ireland, married and had a son named John - so the son John would be 40 - 50 years old maybe. Hopefully one of them will be there. Many thanks, Gay 2008/10/28 <Kris6851@aol.com> > Yes, the libary has all of them. Hello - are there city directories available for 1920 - 1930?
In doing research into my Flanagans who emigrated to Troy from Co. Tipperary, I find some married into Watson and Millington families. They were all blacksmiths. One of the Watsons may have been a Troy policeman. Does anyone have these in their trees. If so, contact me off list and we can compare. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
Kris, Please e-mail me off list. I don't have your e-mail address and I may have some information for you on your Fox family. Kay Brearton Kbrearton@nycap.rr.com
My Daley's (not the usual spelling) settled in NYC in 1880's. My Grandfather Joseph D. Daley grew up in the Sparkhill Orphanage then moved to Waterviliet in the early 1900's. To my knowledge he had no family - we never found out who his parents were. J. I am throwing a line in the water and hope to catch a fish!! Many thanks to those who take a look for me. G Young

this came directly to me instead of the list....Kris Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be available to look-up the Ditmyer/Ditmyre/Ditmire Family, who are buried in St. Pat's. My ggrandfather John F. Ditmyer died in Sept. 6, 1898 and gggrandmother Ellen Ditmire(ditmyer) died Sept. 2, 1895 were buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery. There are also other family members, Francis, Bridget, Elizabeth, Henry, Mary, John, Margaret/Mary (twins) and several others, but because of spelling variations I cannot tell if they are in the same family. If there is someone who could check the burial cards I might gain a clue as to whether they had a family plot. I do not expect someone to go through all the records, but if someone could check to see if anyone else is buried with these other two family members I would appreciate it. Thank You, Victoria Engbarth **************Play online games for FREE at Games.com! All of your favorites, no registration required and great graphics – check it out! Okay, so surely there is someone out there who wants to participate in this event......you can volunteer to man the table without dressing the part. kris Next....we will set up a table of informaton during the Troy Victorian Stroll on 12/6/08. This is an annual event in Troy that brings thousands of people into the city to stroll and inform themselves of Troy's wonderful history including the people, architecture and organizations. I have been informed that we can set up at Troy City Hall. NOW for the interesting part. We are looking for members to come to the stroll, volunteer to man the table and to dress for the occasion. Any member who would enjoy dressing as though they lived in the Victorian era. If you have been to the stroll you will remember men in tophats and women in long dresses, capes and of course lovely hats. You can make, rent or borrow clothing. I did find a website,http://www.recollections.biz/ that has a variety of clothing from $50 and up to whatever you want to spend. You will need to decide soon as it takes about 4 weeks to get your order. You can be an Irish Housekeeper or a person of influence, whichever you prefer. Please consider this as it will highlight our group as well as be fun......Let me know so we have an idea of how many members we will have.....Kris **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination.
