Kathleen, the records for St. Peters are now at St. Anthonys in downtown Troy on 4th Street. Yes, the cemetery is an active cemetery that is kept up and easy to visit. There is a new Hilton Gardens on Hoosick Street (Rt 7) in Troy convenient to the cemetery, close to Oakwood Avenue. There is also The Old Judge Mansion B&B, you can google their website. St. Mary's in not on Oakwood Ave. It is accessed from either Tibbits Avenue or Brunswick Rd. Tibbits being the easiest. When are you coming, perhaps you will be here around the time of our July 19th TIGS meeting. Listers, I just received an email update from Ancestry saying the following: New York - or, more accurately, all 13 million of its 1940 residents - is the latest state to be indexed on Ancestry.com. So whether you're searching upstate or the Big Apple, now it just takes a name to get started (although a birth year, place and other details help, too). Plug the details into the search box and see what happens Happy Hunting! Terry Bora ======= Email scanned by PC Tools - No viruses or spyware found.
