He leaves a wife and family. ************************ On the afternoon of Wednesday last John Rossiter left his borarding house at number 53 Oliver Street with a view of paying a visit to some friends at the village of Astoria, Long Island but he never reached there. He was born in England. ************************ Saturday last no less than 3 persons were sentenced to be hung on the 21st of November 1851: Joseph Clark for the murder of George T. Gillespie, a police officer of the Fourth ward; Michael Mulvey (Mulrey), for the murder of Charles Beekman, bar keeper ina an oyster saloon on the corner of Chatham and Orange Streets; James Sullivan for the murder of edward Smith on the 10th of August 1851. On the Same day ellen Doyle, convicted of manslaughter in the second degree, in killing Catharine Sullivan, was sentenced to five years imprisonment at Sing Sing. ******************************* Friday afternoon, a bricklayer by the name of Adam Winn residding at 18 Reade Street was severly injured about his hips and head by fallling from the scaffold of a new brick building errecting in Barrow Street near Hudson Street *************************** Saturday morning Samuel P. Hallett, of 18 Fifth Street, put an end to his earthly existence by administering to himself a powerful dose of laudanum. He leaves a wife and son. ***************************** Yesterday morning around 11:00 an aged gentleman, Jacob Ostrander of 103 varick streetwas attending service at the Baptist Church at the corner of McDougal and Bedfore streets he was suddenly seized with dizziness in the head and instantly fell from his seat upon the floor. He died at his home. ************************************* Wm Galllin lived at 104 St Mark's place. ***************** Mr Wm E. Chilson lived at 305 Broadway ************************ George G. Sheppard lived at 187 Water Street.
