Miss Katie SHEA died Feb. 10 at the Convent of the Good Shepherd. She was an orphan girl who has lived at the convent since she was a child. Among her kins-people in this city are John J. SHEA and Mrs. CASEY. >From our Memphis Correspondent. The Very Rev. James McFADDEN, the distinguished Irish patriot and priest, lectured at St. Peter’s Church, Sunday, Feb 12. He has been in America a little over two years. His mission is to raise funds to build a cathedral at Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland. The work was not taken up of his own accord, but was placed upon him by the Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. O’DONNELL. He is the pastor of a very large church, there being more than 1,000 families in the parish and from 2,000 to 3,000 people are under his pastoral charge. Father McFADDEN is much gratified at the cordial reception accorded him in Memphis, and the interest manifested in his work and the subject of his lecture. A banquet was given in Father McFADDEN’s honor. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NY-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news! TM http://www.NewspaperAbstracts.com
