Brown. Article Text: Originally submitted by: L. Schmidt Probable Murder of Oscar M. Brown. ["Mr B.... enlisted in Mitchell's military company..."] We learn from the Milwaukee 'Daily Life,' that Oscar M. Brown, whosefriends live in this vicinity, was drowned in the river, just below Chestnut Street Bridge, in that city, on Tuesday morning, the 10th inst. Mr Brown had been in the employ of the La Crosse Railroad Co., for the past three years, as brakeman, baggage master, &c., all of which positions he filled creditably. Mr B. had quit the employ of the R.R., and enlisted in Mitchell's military company, the Friday previous. Evidence of violence is on the body; a deep hole in the skull, which is fractured at the forehead. The circumstances of his death are involved in mystery.
