ATWATER's residence, on East Main street, has been connected with the Telephone Exchange. The attendance was very small at the semi-monthly meeting of the Relief Association last evening, and no business of importance was transacted. A letter, thanking somebody for rescuing his family on the streets of New York and purporting to be from "A.D. NORMAN" of Batavia, is printed in the New York 'Sun.' There is no such name as A.D. NORMAN in the Batavia directory. About ten additional members have been secured by the local branch of the Wayne Building, Loan and Accumulating Fund Association. The Secretary, E.E. SISSON Brothers, grocers of Collins, Erie county, have made an assignment. The loss of OLP & NOTT, who were burned out at Mt. Morris, has been adjusted, the firm receiving $3,050. Two cases of varioloid have been discovered in Buffalo, the last victim being a little girl at No. 57 Broadway. The sale of Rochester breweries to an English syndicate has not been consummated and it is likely that it will fall through. The organization of Albion's Board of Trade is under way. A meeting was held last evening, presided over by Judge SIGNOR. Committees were appointed and it was announced that a membership of forty had already been secured. The editorial page of the Buffalo 'Courier' to-day is a queer mixture, being dated to-morrow and containing news of last Friday. Evidently it is a page of the weekly edition of the paper. Among the editorial articles is one appropriately headed "A Few Errors," but it does not refer to the make-up's big blunder. M.E. CLARK, formerly ticket and freight agent of the New York Central at Albion, has received the position of contracting agent for the Burlington. E.F. REEVES, agent at Medina, has been transferred to Albion. P. McMAHON, formerly a clerk in the Medina office, has been promoted to the position of freight and ticket agent there. + + BERGEN MATTERS OF NEWS. Miss Gertie MOYER of Fort Plain, N.Y. is visiting her aunt, Mrs. F. BOWER. Last Thursday evening two sleigh-loads of the village young folks made Miss Jennie SPAFFORD a surprise visit and enjoyed it so much that they didn't get home until 2 a.m. The Rev. J.A. SMITH was benefitted by his donation last Friday evening to the extent of $82. A fight in Edgerton & Co.'s store Saturday morning between B. HARFORD's dog and the store cat resulted in a dead cat and the demolition of a four-dollar square of glass. Mrs. Nancy SLOAN, wife of John D. SLOAN, died last Thursday at the County House, of which she had been three years an inmate, aged 84 years. This is the eighth week of the revival meetings.
