New York Times, 6 August 1927 PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 5 (AP). -- James Ahern of Media, Pa., died in the Philadelphia General Hospital, where he had spent the last eighteen years on a cot. He had suffered a broken back when he fell from a hay wagon and was never able to walk.
