Mr.Hoag was 88 years of age. He devoted much time and study to the propogation of grapes and became widely known as the originator of the famous Niagara white grape, grown quite extensively hereabouts. The deceased was a son of Obadiah P.and Phebe H.Hoag, and was born at Pittstown, Rensselear county,N.Y., in 1825. He was educated at the Lewiston Academy, at Cazenovia Institute. During the greater part of his life he resided at the Hoag homestead on Lake avenue. He is survived by his wife, and four daughters, Mrs.William E.McComb, Miss Emma R.Hoag, Mrs. E.H.
