We understand that on Wednesday, the 11th inst., as a man named John Smith, was ascending the stairs in the Tavern of Mr Van Alst, in Roanoke, he was suddenly seized with a fit and fell down, expiring almost instantly. Surgical aid was immediately called, but life was extinct.
