Article Text: Fatal Accident. It is our painful duty to record the sudden death of one of our esteemed citizens. On Friday after noon, the 13th inst., as Dr. C.A. Northrup, who was returning from a visit to a patient in the town of Pembroke, and when near the Steam Saw Mill, was discovered lying across his Gig, with his head wedged in between the box and the wheel, in which position it appears he must have traveled for two or three miles, as the flesh and hair was completely worn off one side of his head by the friction of the wheel. He was conveyed to the house of Mr D. Eggleston, in a senseless condition, in which state he remained until Monday morning, when death relieved him of his sufferings. Every attention was paid the unfortunate sufferer by Dr Clark of this place, and other physicians, but his injuries were too fatal to admit of successful surgical results. His remains were conveyed to his residence in Batavia, on Monday, and interred the following day.
