DIED: On Saturday evening Aug. 28, Mrs. Eliza HOOK, aged 37 years, eldest daughter of Mrs. Sarah WHITLOCK. The friends of the family, and of her brothers-in-law, O.C. OWENS and Wm. O.E. BOURNE, are invited to attend her funeral this (Monday) afternoon, at 3 P.M. from her late residence, 160 Forsyth st. On Sunday, August 29, of cholera infantum, Julia, Petronia, daugter [sic] of George and Julia Maria CARPENTER, aged 10 months and 23 days. The friends of the family, and those of his mother-in-law, Mrs. M.P. KING, are respectfully invited to attend her funeral from her residence in Fourteenth-st. fourth door from Tenth-avenue, this day, August 30, at 4 o'clock, P.M. without farther notice. Suddenly, on the 26th instant, Henry Conklin PEIRCE, second son of Chauncey PEIRCE of this City, aged fifteen years. At Greenwich, Ct. Aug 27, Ransom W. TARBOX, aged 18 years, son of Mr. Hiram TARBOX, of Lisbon, Ct. At Victoria, Texas, August 6, William B. SUTTON, of bilious fever, in his 20th year, son of the late Pell B.
