    3. New Rochelle Pioneer, 4 July 1903 FIRE DESTROYS BARN. -- Building and Contents on Berrian Farm Burned A large barn on the W. D. Berrian farm on North street was destroyed by a fire on Wednesday at midnight. The loss was about $6,000. A horse two cows, wagons, implements and hay were dstroyed. The origin of the fire is believed to have been spontaneous combustion of hay. An alarm was sent in from Siebrecht's after the fire was discovered by Charles Seacor. The Relief Chemical and steam engines were taken to the fire, but the property was doomed before the firemen arrived. They directed their work to saving the house and out-buildings.
