Unable to Decide Whether or Not He Will Again Try Suicide. Article Text: Of pleasing address and evidencing all the earmarks of refinement, Jerome DESWICK, 57 years old, of 277 Third avenue, New York, was given a hearing before Recorder STACKHOUSE in Camden yesterday on a charge of attempting suicide. "Yes, sir; that is right," replied DESWICK to the charge. "Are you still of the same mind?" Inquired the Court. "Why, can you accommodate me?" was the surprising response. DESWICK was told that he could not be assisted in ending his life, and when pressed further as to whether he would try to commit suicide he replied he could not tell. In consequence he was locked up until his relatives are communicated with. DESWICK tried to leap from the ferry boat Beverly on Friday night while the craft was going from Philadelphia to Camden. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NY-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
