I. Article Text: December 21, 1844: A correspondent informs us of the death, on the 19th inst., at his residence, near Astoria, Long Island, of CAPTAIN JOHN LAWARENCE, in his 90th year, a soldier of the Revolution. Mr. Lawarence was an actor in xeveral of the most improtant military events in the war of Freeddom. At the termination of that great struggle he retired to his farm, on which he has ever since resided, living to see around him his children of the third and fourth generations. Until lately he had preserved his health and faculties and was a noble and venerable remmant of the men of '76.
