Physicians Say Gas in Soda Ruptured Stomach Wall. Article Text: New York May 28.--A glass of ice cream soda was responsible for the death yesterday of William C. BALDWIN, a Brooklyn merchant, according to the announcement of the hospital physicians today. After drinking the soda BALDWIN was stricken with severe pains and died a few hours later. The hospital physicians were baffled by the case which they set down as one of ptomaine poisoning.
