Article Text: "So Doth the Busy Bee Improve Each Golden Hour" TOWN LINE TALK. East Tonawanda and West Amherst, May 4, 1891. Mr. A. J. Metro of Buffalo, was home on a visit Sunday. Miss Mary Metro has returned home, after an extended visit in Buffalo. Mr. Philip Hardy and family of Sweet Home, called on his brother George Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John P. Kibler and son called on relatives in Tonawanda Sunday. Miss Rozana Kibler has been quite sick for some time. Her sister Mary, of Bear Ridge, is attending her. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Metro of Tonawanda called on some of their old friends in this neighborhood Sunday. Mr. Christ. Ackerman of Tonawanda Creek, has been called as juryman of the Erie County Supreme Court. Miss Minnie Mason, who has been visiting relatives in Clarence the past two weeks, returned home on Saturday. Mr. Albert Horn of North Buffalo, made a pleasant call on Mr. Theobald Fischer Saturday, while on his way to Sweet Home. Mr. Will Vigueron, formerly of this place but now of Tonawanda, passed through here Sunday and took a look at his old home. Didn’t it look lonesome, Will? Mr. Albert Pickard of Tonawanda, and Miss Clara Bush of Bear Ridge, called on Mr. Chas. Kilber Sunday. Mr. And Mrs. Ely Bush of Tonawanda Creek called at the same place. SYNDICATE WILHELM WAVELETS. Wilhelm, May 5, 1891. Arbor Day will be observed at School No. 2 this week Friday. Mr. Chas. Bergtold is again suffering with quinsy. Mrs. Cotton of Elma, was a guest at Mr. T. C. Hillman’s Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. William Hutchinson visited at Mr. O. E. Tanner’s Sunday. Mr. T. C. Hillman, who has been seriously ill for the past ten days, is somewhat better. Mrs. Alice Butler has gone to Buffalo, where she will pursue her calling of dressmaking. Mrs. William Hopper of East Elma, spent last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Gipple. Preaching in our church next Sunday is announced. Also Y. P. S. C. E. in the evening: subject “Our inheritance.” The measles seem to be about as fashionable as the grip just now. A number of our juvenile residents are sporting it, among them Master Willie Popliski. The auxiliary to the C. W. B. M. Society of North Lancaster, will meet on Thursday afternoon, May 14, at the residence of Mrs. Sylvester Jenkins in Bowmansville. Light frost Monday morning and today. Why, the world seems knocked away back into last December! Snowed nearly all day. Dame Natur’ is growing extravagant to wear a white lace overdress over her beautiful new robe of green.
