A grindstone burst at the Scythe Manufacturing of Crossman & Co, Fitchburg, Massachutes on Saturday about noon, throwing Hiram who was at work with it up through the roof of the building. He lived only about 15 minutes. ********************************** The funeral services in honor of the late Justice woodbury of the supreme Coourt of the United States were celebrated at Portsmouth on Thursday last. ************************ Mr Wm Wallace a respectable teamster of West Philadelphia sustained a severe fracture of the skull yesterday orning in consequence of a kick from his horse. He is not expected to survive. ********************************* Boston, Massachuttes...Thomas Davis who murdered his sister yesterday. The murdered woman was married in July last to James D.L. Van Wagner. Davis is a widower and has three children. *********************** Boston, Massachuttes.....Hiram Wilcom was killed on Saturday in Fitchburg by the bursting of a grindstone in Crossman's Scythe Manufactory. ****************************** Mary Connors kidnapped the 9 year old daughter of Richard Crummin who resides in the village of Ottawa, Illinois. The child was left in Ireland by her parents when the emigrated to this country and in the month of June 1850, mr Crummin enclosed an amoount of money sufficient to pay his daughter's passage across the ocean, and dispatched the same to a relative in newland, Tipporary County, Ireland, with instructions to send the chid to this country incharge of this Miss Connors, who it was understood was coming out to America. They made all the arrangements and she sailed with the girl in the packet ship Probust which arrived at this port on July 29, 1850, since which time, Mr. Crummin has heard nothing of his daughter, and with a view of asceertaining her whereabouts. ******************************** The sentence of Michael Mulvey (Mulrey) who was convicted of murder at the last term of the court of Oyer and Terminer for shooting a German named Charles Beekman in an oyster saloon on the corner of Orange and Chatham Streets, some months ago, has been commuted by Gov. Hunt into imprisonment in the Sing Sing prison for life. The 21st of noverber was the day fixed for his execution. On Monday next the unfortunate man will be taken to prison. ********************* Yesterday morning Dr. Seth Geer, Coroner, was call to 315 Bowery to see David Bell who killed himself by a poisonous drug. Mr. Mary Bell,is the wife of David Bell. He sold segars at the above premises was born in New York 34 years ago. ************************ At an early hour yesterday morning a very respectable German by the name of Joseph Meyer living at the corner of 13th and Avenue A, made an attempt to kill himself by raising up the front window sash of he 3rd story of his house, and leapping out upon the pavement. His fall ws broken by striking against the awning which providentialy saved his life but as he was terribly injured abut the skull and back he may yet die. ********************************* On Saturday evening about 5 p.m. an Michael cain, and emigrant who just reached this country from theold world, met with a sad and fatal accident.
