Beecher, who died at Norwich, Chenango county, on the 14th inst., at the age of 69, was well known in the central part of the State. He was assistant surgeon of the 114th N.Y.Vols. during its entire term of service, and labored faithfully and effectively with it. He wrote an elaborate history of the organization, which had a wide circulation. The Doctor was the leading spirit in organizing and keeping up the annual reunions of the veteran survivors of the regiment. Major Fitts of our city was a member of this regiment, and speaks in the highest terms of Dr.Beecher. Christopher Boller, an old G.A.R. comrade fell dead in Buffalo Sunday. He was born in Cheshire, Mass., March 18, 1787, and was six years of age when his father, one of the pioneer settlers of Oneida county, N.Y., settled in what is now the town of Augusta. In 1801 they settled in Waterville, which was ever after his residence.
