Article Text: Originally submitted by: L. Schmidt Sudden Death. On Christmas Day, a well known colored man, named Edward Johnson died at the Western Hotel, in this village. A jury was empanelled by Dr J.L. Curtis, Coroner, who, after an examination, rendered a verdict that the deceased came to his death from the following causes: 1. By softening of the posterior portion of the brain, caused by habitual drunkenness. 2.
