The National convention of St. Patrick’s Alliance, held here, was a gratifying success. Mrs. James BURNS of 601 Chestnut Avenue, whose funeral occurred Feb. 9, was an old resident of Trenton, having lived there close to half a century. She died rather suddenly of heart trouble, being 60 years of age. Her husband is still living, and she left four children – James and John BURNS and Mrs. Peter CLARK and Mrs. Dominick FARLEY. Among those who attended the funeral were deceased brother, Simon REED of Erie, Pa., and her sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth BRANIFF, of Erie, and Mrs. Mary BULLIFONT of Newark. Requiem Mass was celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. >From our Trenton Correspondent. The Rev. father DULIGG, of the Sayville Catholic Church, conducted the services. Mrs. McFARLAN was born in Georgia, and was 75 years of age. She had lived at Holbrook for the past six years. Her husband, Thomas McFARLAN, died several years ago. Some time ago she broke her hip through a fall, which was the direct cause of her death. The surviving children are Mrs. Thomas WILDS, Gerard S. McFARLAN, Hamilton McFARLAN, Miss Helen S. He never recovered from a bullet wound he received at the hands of a burglar about 15 years ago. DUGGAN was occasionally taken ill as the result of the shooting. A stomach disorder developed and he was put on duty in the Wallabout Market where he remained until a few months ago, when ill health obliged him to give up. [Transcriber’s Note: New York’s Wallabout Market was Brooklyn’s largest wholesale market and one of the largest markets in the world. There vendors would sell everything from tapestries to fresh vegetables. There were musical vespers, procession of the Most Blessed Sacrament and sermon. The sermon was preached by Rev. James HIGGINS of St. Teresa’s Church. The eighth annual reception of the Leo Lyceum, connected with the Church of the Sacred Heart, was held in Institute Hall, Adelphi Street, near Parre Avenue, Feb. 13. During the season just closed weekly euchres have been held in the parlors of the club house, 37 Clermont Avenue, which were largely patronized. The affair was under the direction of Edward F. HANNIGAN, James B. KEENAN, Edward G. DUNPNY, P.S. REEDY and F. J. RYAN. The officers of the club are: President, P. J. MURTY; Vice-President, John T. KEENAN; Secretary, Thomas F. KANE; and Treasurer, William E. KANE. The members of St. Peter’s Catholic Library Association, which is composed of the young men of the parish, gave a reception and dance Feb. 10 at 112 Warren Street, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the organization of the association. Before the dance, speeches were made by Mr. Charles A. WEBBER and the Rev William T. McGUIRL. Messrs. Robert E. BROWN and J. T. BRENNAN, respectively, sane several bass and tenor solos. Bernard Langmeyer, 12 years old, of No. 24 Hauf Street, was perhaps seriously injured while playing football with several companions in a vacant lot in Glenwood Avenue yesterday. Young Langmeyer had a long pencil in his trousers pocket. While running with the ball he fell, the pencil penetrating his abdomen. Article Text: CRUSHED BY BOILER. LABORER IS KILLED WHILE WRECKING BUFFALO STORAGE WAREHOUSE RUINS. Edward Heindleberg, 45 years old, of No. 29 East Market Street, was crushed to death by a boiler rolling on him while at work in the ruins of the Buffalo Storage Warehouse & Carting Company’s building on Seneca Street late yesterday. His body was taken to the Morgue. Heindleberg was employed by Frank Lenahan & Son, who was taking the iron from the ruins. The boiler was being removed from the building and when at the top of an incline one of the ropes broke. Heindleberg was behind the boiler. Mary Rudolph has applied for a limited divorce from Casper Rudolph. Margaret Leech has secured an absolute divorce from Geo. E. Leech Nellie E. Wentworth has sued for a divorce from Watson R. Wentworth. The latter by refusing to pay alimony will have to answer to the superior court for contempt. Jacob Schwabl, foreman at Storm’s Iron works, has sued for a divorce from his wife, Rosa. He alleges that one Geo. Horse robbed him of the affections of his wife, and that Horse is the father of Rosa’s last child. Rosa denies the charges in tote. Caroline L. Boeck has applied for a divorce from Charles A. Boeck, the printer, who eloped with Mrs. Lavina H. Schwinn. The fire had gained considerable headway when Roundsman MONAHAN of the Delancey Street Station heard of the aged woman’s deadly peril, and without a moment’s delay ran through the burning hallway and found Mrs. TORP unconscious in her room. The City Hosptial building was torn down in 1994.] Michael BURKE, mate of the ferryboat Minnehannock, struggled for half an hour with a drowning woman in the cold waters of the East River Feb. 14. BURKE, with his heavy burden, managed to grasp a rope thrown to him and held on until he was dragged from the water. The woman was Ellen McDONALD, an employee of the City Hospital of Blackwell’s Island. That he was guilty of perjury in stating under oath that his statement of his campaign receipts, expenditures and disbursements and liabilities was correct. That he was bribing witnesses to withhold testimony from the legislative committee which investigated his campaign expenditures and receipts. That he was guilty of supressing evidence in using threats to keep witnesses from testifying before the legislative committee. That he was guilty of preventing and dissuading a witness-- Frederick L. Colwell-- from attending under subpoena the sessions of the legisltive committee. That he used money and checks contributed to his pre-election campaign to speculate in stocks, and that he was thereby guilty of larceny. That, as Governor, he threatened to use his office and influence for the purpose of affecting the vote or political action of certain public officers. Thaw adjourned today for two weeks without having found an indictment against him. The only information District Attorney Conger would give out was that the grand jury had not reported on the Thaw case. The matter was presented to the grand jury several days ago. Last Friday when a partial representative on other indictments, it was presistently reported that a vote had been taken on the Thaw case and that sufficient votes to indict were lacking. The case of Howard H.
