    1. [NY-NORTHERN] ANASTACIA SYLVAIN (1842-1922)
    2. Dear Listers, I am searching for information on my great - great grandmother ANASTACIA SYLVAIN. My grandmother said her last name was Silver). She was born c. 1842 in Canada and died 6 Aug. 1922 in Franklin County, New York. She was married to CHARLES LaCHAPPLE, who was born 12 Oct 1844 in Canada and died in 1929 in Malone, New York. They had 8 children. I believe Anastacia parents to be JOHN EVANGALISTE SYLVAIN (BORN 1803 IN Canada and died there) and ADELAIDE "IDA" JUBANVILLE (born c. 1815 in Canada and died 20 Jan. 1895 in Malone, NY. I have been searching for over 20 years from South Carolina and would love to correspond to any cousins. I appreciate any information. Renee Stowe Thurmond (rthurmond@sc..rr.com )

    3. Searching for the ancestors of Dan F. Gray born about 1825 who married Mary Frances Mead born 1830, Rockingham, VT. Dan's parent's were born in New York and possible him as well even tho the death certificate says Waterbury, VT. Dan and Mary married about 1850 and removed to Altona, NY where the children started being born. Mary's brother, James, owned a saw mill on the Chazy River which is a possibility of why they were living there. Dan is listed as a "coalie" on the 1870 census though. Hattie, my ancestor, was born in 1854 in Altona. She had a brother Henry and a sister Alice A. who are buried in the Old Mooers Cemetery with their parents. Dan, her father, was sick for the last 6 years of life and lived with Hattie and husband Albinus Wells in St Albans, VT. Upon his death he was transported to Old Mooers. Hattie is buried in St Albans, VT. I need to find Dan's parents. Have been looking for quiet some time. Everything on his posted on ancestry has been put there by me. It seems I am the only one looking for him. Thank you for any information this post produces!

    1. Re: [NY-NORTHERN] Patrick and Bridget COLLIER, other Irish connections to Northern NY State
    2. Dianna, I am not related to the Colliers, but I have ancestors who have ties to Ireland and are of about the same age. To make a very long story short and get to the point, I have been unable to find any entry records in this country for my relatives. They went to Warren County (south of Lewis where other family ties are established from this same family) and are living there 1857, stating they arrived about 1853. I suspect they might have left from Ireland, probably Dublin, but where they landed, I have no idea. I have searched records in the US - Boston, NY, Philadelphia and even to the south with no luck on finding them yet (It's always possible I missed it). I'd love to find an entry port or ship's manifest if one exists. I have to wonder if they didn't come over the border from Canada. My relatives are John Harrison, his barely teenage daughter Sarah, and daughter and son in law Elizabeth (Harrison) and Thomas Needham. FYI- "old" John later married a young Irish woman that he may or may not have met on the way over. If you find a port and records for your Colliers. I would be interested to know where so I could check this out as well. Thanks for any leads, Phyllis -----Original Message----- From: dianna charles <diamonddi57@optusnet.com.au> To: NY-NORTHERN <NY-NORTHERN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Fri, Sep 20, 2013 7:11 pm Subject: [NY-NORTHERN] Patrick and Bridget COLLIER Hi Everyone I'm doing research into the above and his wife Bridget who came from Ireland.
