Hi Don, Thanks for the interest. Yes, by the end of the war he was Col. Banastre Tarelton. My understanding is that he was in command of the 17th light dragoons and a composite of men that made up the British Legion. These became, after Cowpens, the 5th American Regiment, Establishment 1782. I am indeed trying to get accurate information about the makeup of the Legion prior to the Southern Campaign.
